The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced that 15 student-athletes from its men’s soccer programs have been named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-Region VIII Team. The selections were revealed on Tuesday.
Three players earned First Team honors: Luke Vander Kolk and Jack Krahel from Wheaton, and Joseph Sargent from North Central. Vander Kolk recorded 27 points with 12 goals and three assists this season. Krahel led the conference with seven shutouts. Sargent, who was named CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year, scored 14 goals and collected 29 points, placing him among the top 30 nationally.
Illinois Wesleyan’s Jerry Smazil and Wheaton’s Wes Seneff were selected for the Second Team. Smazil started in 16 matches as a midfielder for Illinois Wesleyan, while Seneff contributed two assists for Wheaton.
On the Third Team, Illinois Wesleyan’s Ryder Coleman and Ben Lyons combined for a total of 37 points. North Central’s Joris Rijnja started in 18 matches and added three points. Wheaton’s Craig Rusin was recognized with his contribution of 13 points. North Park had two representatives: Bastian Eikeland, who scored five game-winning goals, and Hugo Neborg.
The Fourth Team included Illinois Wesleyan defender Kalabi Kamau along with three more all-region selections: Aleks Duncevic (13 points, nine assists) and Griffin French (19 points) from North Central, as well as Christian Vaaland from North Park.
