Cost of college went up for all students at the Universal Spa Training Academy

Tuition and fees rose 0.3 percent for 2018-19 at the Universal Spa Training Academy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $15,450 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $50 more than the $15,400 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 61 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 43 students received grants or scholarships totaling $126,920 and 63 students took out student loans totaling more than $313,534.

Including all undergraduates (132), 83 students used grants or scholarships totaling $224,676, and 107 students took out $546,670 in federal student loans.
