Naperville Police Department issued the following announcement on July 9.
Naperville Police made five drunk-driving arrests and issued 34 seat belt citations during the recent Fourth of July Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket crackdown.
Naperville Police joined forces with more than 150 other state and local law enforcement agencies conducting the campaign, which featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including a media campaign. The goal of this statewide effort was to get impaired drivers off Illinois roadways and encourage seat belt use among motorists and passengers.
The recent law enforcement effort was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
