Wheaton warns of parking space closures through September

No parking sign

Drivers looking for places to park in downtown Wheaton should be aware of temporary parking space closures, according to a recent press release.

Ongoing repair work on the garages at Wheaton Place, 232 W. Wesley St., and Willow Avenue, 220 S. Cross St., necessitates the closures, which will run through the end of September, the release said.

The closures are meant to be systematic so as to avoid parking congestion for permit holders. Allocated parking spaces will continue working as usual, and the changes do not give permit holders permission to park in the customer-only slots or vice versa.

The repairs were recommended as part of a standard five-year checkup meant to ensure that the garages are properly and effectively maintained.
