Oak Brook ranked 791th in state in lottery ticket sales for April 2016

The Village of Oak Brook had the 791th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- down 1 spot from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Oak Brook was $6.26 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Dupage Policy Journal, Oak Brook generated $50,688.50 in net sales from its five lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $49,407.50 in April 2015.

The Village of Oak Brook is in Cook County, and has a population of 8,091, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Downers Grove, Oakbrook Terrace, Hinsdale, Western Springs, Villa Park, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Lombard, Elmhurst, Westchester and Hillside.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
