West Chicago street striping program scheduled

Construction

The City of West Chicago's 2016 Contractual Street Striping Program has been tentatively scheduled to begin following the week of Monday, June 27.

The project consists of pavement marking removal and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings on Joliet Street between Geneva Street and Illinois Route 59 (Neltnor Boulevard); on Hawthorne Lane between Powis Road and Pilsen Road. Workers will also undertake the installation of stop bars and crosswalks throughout the Prestonfield Subdivision. Work on Hawthorne Lane and within the Prestonfield Subdivision is scheduled to be completed prior to Joliet Street.

Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. All streets will remain open to traffic during construction.  Motorists can expect only minor delays immediately following pavement marking activities while the material dries.
