Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 87.6 percent of Naperville Central High School's (NCHS) 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For NCHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 85.7 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two- and four-year colleges.
Enrollment at NCHS in 2015 was 2,930; 750 (25.6 percent) were seniors.
Also according to ISBE, 77.4 percent of NCHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, versus an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
Among high schools in DuPage, the class of 2015 college readiness rate at Hinsdale Central High School (87.1 percent) was higher than at NCHS. Willowbrook High School (49.8 percent), Glenbard North High School (55.7 percent), Downers Grove South High School (56.9 percent) and Waubonsie Valley High School (66.3 percent) were all lower.
NCHS students did better on math (71.1 percent) and English (84.6 percent) and worse on science (65.9 percent) and reading (68.4 percent).
Only 53.6 percent of NCHS students were college ready in all four subjects, according to ISBE.
