Carol Stream Board of Fire and Police Commissioners hold police officer examination

The Carol Stream Board of Fire and Police Commissioners held a special meeting 9 a.m. Feb. 20 to conduct the Police Officer orientation and examination.

The board discussed the orientation and written examination for the Police Officer eligibility list. Applicants must receive a score of 75 percent to be able to appear at the oral board interviews, which were scheduled for the week of March 7.

A combined score of 80 percent on the written exam and oral board interview will allow applicants to be placed on the eligibility list. Following the special meeting and orientation, the written examination was conducted.

Police recruitment tests are held every three years. To apply for the Carol Stream Police Department, the applicant must be between 21 and 35, have a correctable vision of 20/20, be a high school graduate and a U.S. citizen. The applicant must have a valid driver's license.

The most recent Police Officer recruitment closed on Feb. 5.
