Elmhurst Stormwater Committee works on IGAs

Elmhurst

As the city of Elmhurst continues working to develop long-term solutions to the area’s stormwater flooding issue, the Stormwater Communications Committee held a public meeting Thursday.

The aim of the committee is to lead the development and negotiations for intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) for the various responsibilities of flood mitigation among the city of Elmhurst, School District 205 and Elmhurst Park District.

The meeting’s agenda featured updates and discussions from the various districts in which stormwater is a concern, including York Commons, Golden Meadows, East End Park, Crestview Park, Wild Meadow Trace and Pioneer Park.

Discussing the proposed terms of the IGAs, agencies came together on 10 previous occasions since July 2015. All meetings have been public, with the opportunity for comments to be heard from residents, business owners and other stakeholders.
