U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Dist. 3) and his staff will be busy during the next few weeks, hosting a Veterans Fair, a  town hall meeting and two Senior Fairs in the Third Congressional District.

Lipinski urged residents to show up.

“As your representative in Washington and someone who strives to improve the quality of life in the communities I serve, it is critical that I hear from you," Lipinski said in a statement. " In addition, these events will be great opportunities for you to get assistance with federal issues and learn about the wide array of constituent services my office provides. It is my privilege to serve you.”

At the town hall meeting -- 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Oak Lawn Public Library, 9427 Raymond Ave. -- Lipinski will talk about his legislative efforts in Washington and in his district. Attendees will be able to ask questions. Some of Lipinski's staffers will be present an hour before the meeting to help residents with issues concerning Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other matters.

During the Veterans Fair -- 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Nov. 20, Johnson-Phelps VFW Post 5220, 9514 S. 52nd Ave. in Oak Lawn -- members of Lipinski's staff and the Illinois and U.S. Departments of Veterans Affairs will be available to help veterans with medical records, claims and benefits, medals earned but not received, VA hospital billing, placement in VA homes and GI Bill information.

At the Senior Fairs -- Monday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to noon, the Sabre Room, 8900 W. 95th St., Hickory Hills, and Monday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m. to noon, American Legion Post 735, 6050 S. Harlem Ave., Summit -- district residents can learn about and get help with elder-care issues. Lipinski staffers and representatives from several groups, agencies and businesses that provide services to seniors will be present.

Constituents with questions or concerns who cannot attend any of these events are encouraged to call or stop by one of Lipinski’s offices in Chicago, Lockport, Oak Lawn and Orland Park. For more information, go online to lipinski.house.gov or call 773-948-6223.
