Westmont continues work on village strategic plan

Westmont

The village of Westmont said Wednesday that efforts to develop a village strategic plan are continuing.

The purpose of the plan is to define the mission of the village, its future vision, core values and goals and to develop a plan to achieve these goals.

The planning process has brought together a diverse group, including village staff and community leaders, to draft the plan.

The next step in the process will be to integrate all of the data and develop an early draft for the village's board to review. After that, a preliminary draft of the document will be published for citizen input at a community dialogue in the fall. A final draft will then be prepared for the village's board to consider for adoption.

“This process has been very inspirational,” Village Manager Steve May said. “It is exciting to get people together who are passionate about the community and then discuss together how we move forward to make our village great. We expect many good ideas and initiatives as a result of this process.”
