State Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-IL), along with Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, recently announced a grant of $125,000 for the Bensenville Public Library, which will be used to expand its building to provide more services for local youth.

"I’m excited to announce this funding because I am a strong believer in the work that libraries do for the community,” Willis said. “This funding will help the library to grow and to provide more resources for the youth of Bensenville and surrounding communities.”

In total, over $700,000 in fiscal year 2015 Live and Learn Construction Grants has been awarded to 17 public libraries across the area, to assist with capital improvements.

“Our public libraries are cornerstones of our communities,” White said. “I am pleased to award these grants through the Illinois state library to help maintain the infrastructure of our public libraries, so that they remain the best information resource available to citizens.”
