East Branch DuPage River Watershed Resiliency Plan meeting slated for Feb. 23
DuPage County residents will be given an opportunity to learn more about the draft East Branch DuPage River Watershed Resiliency Plan at a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at the Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave.
"Over the past few months, the county has been working closely with East Branch Watershed communities – many of whom are still recovering from the April 2013 flood – and other stakeholders to determine what steps need to be taken to lessen the effects of extreme weather," DuPage County Stormwater Management Committee Chairman Jim Zay said. "The draft East Branch Watershed Resiliency Plan is the culmination of that work."
The meeting will afford the public the chance to learn more about the document. The public will also learn about future recommendations and be given the chance to offer feedback and input on the plan.
"Residents and business owners had a hand in developing this draft plan, so we want their feedback on the document as a whole," Zay said. "In order to help our communities become more resilient, we need participation on an individual, local level."
